About Me
Hi, I’m Sarah. For nearly 20 years, I worked as a childcare compliance surveyor, giving me a firsthand understanding of the regulations, expectations, and challenges that childcare providers navigate every day. My career has also taken me into many other areas of early childhood education, allowing me to see the field from multiple perspectives.
Throughout those years, I learned that compliance is about much more than preparing for a survey or checking boxes. At its best, it helps create safe, healthy, and supportive environments where children can learn and thrive.
I also saw how easily regulations can become overwhelming. Providers are responsible for caring for children, supporting families, managing staff, maintaining records, and running their programs, all while trying to understand and meet numerous requirements.
That is why I created this website and why I began putting my experience into writing. My goal is to share what I have learned in a practical, straightforward way through the resources you’ll find here and in my book.
I want to help childcare professionals understand not only what is required, but also why it matters. Because when you understand the purpose behind a requirement, compliance becomes less about fear of getting something wrong and more about confidently doing what is right for children.
My mission is simple: to make childcare compliance easier to understand, easier to manage, and a little less stressful.
